Do I need a PSA blood test?
There has been a large amount of media coverage with mixed messages regarding the need or importance of prostate cancer screening and PSA testing. The current position of the American Urology Association is to obtain baseline testing at age 40 and if you are at increased risk to undergo regular testing throughout your 50's and 60's. For men with low PSA values testing can be performed at less frequent intervals. Click here for a discussion on the pro's and con's of PSA testing and links to other resources.
